I was traveling to the board walk the other day and I noticed that they are doing some construction on the road that leads to the board walk. I saw one guy holding the a sign that said SLOW and on the other side of the sign it said STOP. About a block ahead there was another guy holding the same sign as they directed traffic in that construction zone. I could only think about the how inconvenient it was to sit there and wait on the guy to change the sign from Stop to Slow so I could get to that Board Walk. Have you ever been in a construction zone and it slowed you down from getting to your destination? Do you remember how the road or area was before, during and after the construction? Many times, construction is initiated to improve the conditions or infrastructure, although it maybe extremely inconvenient during the periods of construction. After the construction is completed you usually experience smoother roads or better conditions in the area that was being worked on. I was thinking, what if we applied the same concept to our health and fitness. What if we put an internal sign up that said we are working to improve the overall quality of life? Although the work to improve your health maybe inconvenient and down right hard, the pay off is so rewarding. The process maybe SLOW, but you have to constantly remind yourself not to STOP. Let's get started with this body construction.
BODY
The goal we all want is to improve our body or overall health. If you recall earlier I talked about the construction zone. As I traveled through that construction zone, there were men working on the road and bridge which lead to boardwalk. I could tell they were working hard because they were sweating and dirty. It reminded me of some of the workouts we do in class. If you do the exercises right, sweating and burning those calories and fat come naturally, no dirt guys. If you didn't know before you arrived at class, soon after, you will know it's time to work to improve YOU, based on how hard you work. Changing your body is a slow process, it takes time, but you hard work and dedication can expedite it some. You also have to remember that once you put your sign up which essentially means, I'm a work in progress, that sign should remain up for the rest of your life. You can always improve something about your body to make it better. Think about it, have you ever worked out really hard and dedicated yourself and experienced change in your body. Then something came up and you STOPPED working out. Did you body stay in the same physical and toned condition? Need I say more. Put your sign up and lets get started with SLOWLY changing your body, it will pay off. Some of us are already getting PAID.
MIND
Every infrastructure has a blueprint. A blueprint basically lays out the plan as to how, what, when and where of the specific project. Blueprints require a great deal of thought, assessment and planning. If you haven't figured it out, our bodies require the same things when it comes to overall change. It all starts in our mind or brain. The most important component to change is the mind. You have to truly believe unconditionally in yourself and the power of change. The key word is unconditionally, believe me, it won't be perfect conditions, you will probably be uncomfortable and time after time, STOP will come to your mind first. WHAT is your back up plan? I would hope that determination, belief, faith (church folks), perseverance and will power are located somewhere in your back up plan, you will need them. They are in your mind or thoughts, you have to seek them out and use them on a daily basis. If you don't change your body, someone else will, and Will is on his way. Are you going to stand up and get your body in better shape and keep it? Will can do the same, if he chooses, you have to remember that you control you and only you? Handle your business HARD WORKER.
Meal
Finally, a construction zone also has tools that are used to improve infrastructure. I saw shovels, heavy equipment, concrete, etc. in the zone. The workers use all those tools in that zone. Our bodies also need tools or food that we put into them to help them to function better. Protein is a tool we can use to help us with recovery and build lean muscle for example. Carbs are great at helping to produce energy when they are used appropriately in meal plan. We use water to hydrate our bodies. Of course there are many more foods we must consume, but we have to pay close attention to how that food is designed to build our body. Our meals are extremely important to our overall success as we travel in this body construction zone. We must maintain a healthy meal plan if we want to ensure future success in this zone. What's the benefit of working out in the gym or at home then defeating your workout by consuming the wrong foods. That would be similar to having a house built, then on a daily basis you burst a window, or punch a hole in the wall, or kick a door in to destroy the home that you just had built. Does that even sound normal? Believe it or not many of us are well on the way to building our body, but we spend more time eating the wrong things which slows the process of getting that overall healthy body. Healthy foods are the building blocks to a healthy body and lifestyle, especially after you've spend an hour or so tearing your muscles down during a workout. It's imperative that you eat the right foods to help repair and build lean muscle. The benefits are priceless.
If you don't know by now the BODY CAMP is getting closer and we want to be prepared to use it as another tool to build our bodies. I'm excited about the camp and I feel we will touch some lives and change them for the better. Hopefully, the flyers will be ready this week. I will get those out to you all ASAP. Tell your friends, spouse, cousins, co-workers and others. Hopefully, they will be interested in Putting their sign up, alerting everyone that I'm working on this body. I'm working to get toned, tight and feel terrific. I want to change from my old routine and get in MY ZONE. The longer I remain in my ZONE the sexier I get, simply because I'm changing my way of life. I need my people with me on this one, repeat it loud and clear, unless you at work and others are watching. I'm in My ZONE, I'm in MY ZONE.
Building process started while you were reading this blog, now what's your next step.
